Program Details

Training

 1  training per week, 60 minute training
Training sessions will focus on 

  • Technical Priority- Overall Individual Mastery of Ball (Dribbling, Passing, Receiving, and Shooting), Develop Skills (Coordination & Movement)​

  • Tactical PriorityIndividual Skill Development and Team Development, Individual Confidence Building (1v1) Attacker/Defender, Combination Play.

About GIFC Recreation Program

GIFC Recreation is designed to introduce young players to the fundamentals of the game rooted around fun and player development. This is a10 week program that we offer both in the Fall and Spring. Spring season (March - May), Fall Season (September to November)

The main focus of our Recreation is to introduce new players to the game of soccer in a fun and challenging environment that will develop players skills, love for the game and most of all prepare them for competitive soccer.

Games

 All of our games will be played on Saturday mornings at our home field

  • Parents are responsible to get players to the game on time.

  • Players should be ready to warm up 10 mins before each game.

Playing Time Expectations:

  • Playing time is developmentally appropriate; players will play 70% of games 

  • More than 70% is earned.

 

Gameplay Methods:

  • ​5v5 to 7v7 (including GK) depending on ages

  • Build-out-line to promote playing from the back, and working through the thirds, with each player receiving more touches, and more chances for decision making.
